Trying to stem the aging of our skin is not always easy. But luckily there are many natural ways that make it easy to help our skin as it grows older.
There are many natural anti aging oils that are very effective in helping keep our skin youthful. Using these means you can get rid of the harsh chemicals found in store-bought creams.
Another great natural product for anti aging is coconut. Coconut can benefit you in many different ways so is often considered a miracle cure. But something rarely mentioned is using coconut for anti aging.
Here’s a few ways you can use it for fighting wrinkles, fine lines and giving your skin a youthful boost.
Apply Directly To Wrinkles
The first way to use coconut for anti-aging purposes is to apply it directly to fine lines and wrinkles.
Try to do this daily, preferably during your nighttime routine. This makes it easy for you to remember and allows the oil to work overnight. It can soak in while you sleep and get to work.
Keep a container of coconut oil on your bedside table or in the bathroom near your toothbrush (that’s how I remember). A small amount goes a long way, so start with about a teaspoon and use more if necessary.
If the coconut oil is solid, take about a teaspoon and rub it on your wrinkles or lines before bed. When it’s liquid (depends on the temperature), you can pour a small amount into the palm of your hand.
It’s not necessary to rinse coconut oil off – use it like you would lotion or moisturizer. While it may feel a bit greasy at first, it will absorb into the skin and get to work. Keep applying each day, but also try to consume some coconut in your meals and drinks as well.
Note: It is a good idea to test the coconut oil on a small area of your body first. Make sure it doesn’t get red or itchy before using on your face and body.
Take a Bath
Another great way to use coconut oil for anti-aging purposes is in a bath. The bath is a good option when you don’t want to mess around with creams and lotions.
All you need to do is bring a jar of coconut oil into the bathtub with you. When you get in the bath, before sitting down in the water, apply the coconut oil to your skin. Let it absorb until dry, then soak into the bath and it will keep working its magic.
After your bath, your skin will be soft and you don’t have to rinse off the coconut oil.
Combine With Milk, Eggs and Honey
This is a great recipe to make with coconut oil and other natural ingredients. It is ideal for your face but you can use it on your body too.
Egg whites are really good for tightening the skin to prevent further wrinkles. While milk helps to hydrate the skin and make it glow and look more youthful.
Make sure you are only using the egg whites, and not the yellow yolks.
To make the mix, put 1 tablespoon each of coconut oil, milk and honey into a small bowl. Add the white of 1 egg. Mix together well using a small whisk or fork.
Massage the mixture directly onto your skin wherever you want to get rid of fine lines and wrinkles. Leave for about 30 minutes then rinse with warm water.
Store anything left in a small container in the fridge. You will need to warm it up before applying again as the coconut oil and honey will harden.
